Arsenal star Kai Havertz has issued a statement from his hospital bed after undergoing a successful surgery on his hamstring injury.

Havertz suffered an injury during Arsenal's mid-season training camp in Dubai last week and it was confirmed by the Gunners that the Germany international had suffered a tear in his hamstring, essentially ending his season. Havertz has now successfully undergone surgery for his injury.

On X, Havertz wrote: "The last few days have been tough to process both physically and mentally. But yesterday was a good day. A successful op and a win.
"Thanks for all the messages of support over the last few days, it’s really helped.
"I’m now focused on my journey to full fitness and giving all the support I can give to the team in the background."

Arsenal's entire season has been injury-riddled, with many key players missing extended periods of time. Gabriel Jesus, like Havertz, is out for the season, while Bukayo Saka is still several weeks away from returning to action.
