Foden's mother has been in the news repeatedly this week, after United fans levied abusive chants about her during the Manchester derby last Sunday. A visibly distressed Foden was subbed at the 58th minute mark after picking up an injury. The England player was defended by his manager, Pep Guardiola, and also his paternal grandmother, who called the abuse "disgusting".
