Club America manager André Jardine didn’t hide his frustration as the club's Leagues Cup campaign ended in disappointment – three draws, five points, and no path to the next round despite a late flourish.
“We’re very hurt,” Jardine said. “We have the same desire as the fans – we want to win. We didn’t get there; we’re not hiding from that. Without making excuses, we simply have to accept the failure and be better starting Saturday against Querétaro, and in international competitions, be up to the standard.”

are going through their worst stretch in years, having won only four of their last 20 matches – and just one of their last 10 – something their supporters were not accustomed to after the team had won the three-peat.

After the match, Jardine reflected on the sting of the early exit and the challenges his team faced.
“The feeling of being eliminated is terrible… We have to be hard on ourselves, and we’re the most critical – more than the press, more than the fans. We’re not happy or satisfied, but we also have to understand that at the same time, we don’t control everything. Football is one of the sports with the most uncertainty in many aspects. The coach doesn’t control it all, and when you start a season with small problems, you have to see who is the most focused,” he said.
